While we do not manufacture molds directly, the Full Auto 50 is designed to accommodate a wide range of tooling. This provides access to a broad selection of bullet designs while allowing customers to continue using their existing mold inventory.

Compatibility FAQ

Are Magma Engineering molds supported?

Magma Engineering USA has set the standard for steel molds used in high-cycle automatic casting. Their molds are fully compatible with the Full Auto 50 and require no additional hardware, making them our recommended first choice.
A complete mold assembly is required, consisting of mold blocks with keys, a sprue cutter, a spring, and fasteners. These items can be sourced from third-party manufacturers, two of which we highly recommend below.

Are Ballisti-Cast molds supported?

Ballisti-Cast molds were also designed for automatic casting, although they are less common in today’s market. To use these mold blocks with the Full Auto 50, you will need our Ballisti-Cast kit (keys), a Magma Engineering-type sprue cutter, and an appropriate spring with fasteners.

Are RCBS molds supported?

RCBS molds require an RCBS-specific kit (keys, sprue cutter, and tensioner arm) and use the original RCBS fasteners. While customers appreciate their availability and the reasonable longevity of the steel mold blocks, this solution has limitations due to the absence of a spring in the assembly. RCBS molds work well for hobby use; however, we do not recommend them for high-volume casting, as the sprue cutter bolt requires periodic retightening.

I have a specific bullet or part design I’d like to cast, but no mold is available. What should I do?

We recommend either working directly with a mold maker or starting with a Magma-type blank mold block (a solid block without a machined cavity). This allows you to cut a custom cavity to your exact requirements. If you need assistance with engineering or fabrication, please contact us for details.

Does the Full Auto 50 work with hollow-point molds?

Compatibility is possible but depends on the specific mold design. The machine works very reliably with A–B molds (open-close designs without side actions). For hollow-point molds, testing is recommended on a case-by-case basis.

I have Lyman, MP Molds, or other mold types. Can these work with the Full Auto 50?

There are some compatibility limitations related to cavity count, cavity spacing, and overall mold dimensions. If you have a large inventory of specific molds and compatibility is a critical factor, please contact us. We can review your molds and advise whether integration is feasible.
